New readers and longtime supporters alike can browse this Table of Contents—a curated list of articles, collections, and sidenotes—to get a better idea of what this newsletter discusses, this author’s background, and how to support independent journalism.
Each Collection contains a series of articles which share a common topic, a summary of each entry in that series, and a brief discussion of how the central topic relates to the concept of economic justice.
Each Sidenote is akin to a letter from the editor—a message from this writer to my readers—regarding the newsletter or a bit about this author.

Inflation is a global problem primarily driven by supply chain disruptions
Read more about why, after examining recent studies and data, I concluded that:
Inflation isn’t just happening in the United States
Consolidated markets and corporate profiteering exacerbate inflation
Pandemic relief in the U.S. wasn’t a mistake
Combating inflation does not require enduring unnecessarily high rates of unemployment for years to come
Beyond clarifying misconceptions, I also highlighted how supply-chain disruptions—particularly in the oceanic shipping industry—have contributed to global inflation. I wrapped up this extensive article with a brief discussion of what the path forward for the U.S. may look like.
2021 Year In Review
For new readers wanting to see what topics this newsletter covered throughout 2021, or anyone looking to get caught up on major developments in the political economy, this comprehensive article is a great place to start.
I also provided updates on many subjects addressed in prior articles and discussed plans for future articles throughout 2022. Read Looking Back on Yet Another Difficult Year and sign up for free if you want the latest article delivered to your inbox as soon as it is published!
Coronavirus Relief & Economic Stimulus
This Collection of articles examines U.S. economic policies, empirical studies on their impact, and advocates for further legislation which benefits everyone. Countering a devastating economic recession by providing robust, sustained relief not only stimulates the economy, but it also alleviates unnecessary suffering.
Read more about these topics throughout the Coronavirus Relief and Economic Stimulus Collection:
The CARES Act
The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021
The American Rescue Plan Act
For the People Act Analysis
The United States was founded upon the idea that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed—the people—and this Collection analyzes legislation that would reinforce this principle.
Throughout this series, I examine the major provisions of the For the People Act:
Voting rights protections
Campaign finance standards
Ethics reforms

Infrastructure Investments
This Collection contains my articles discussing the Build Back Better Agenda currently being negotiated in Congress. I chronicle how this agenda began with a set of plans and became two separate bills:
Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act—the ~$500 billion “bipartisan” bill
The Build Back Better Act—the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill
Together, these bills could create 20 million jobs over the next decade, reduce the costs families across the country pay for often prohibitively expensive essentials, and combat climate change while repairing our long-neglected social safety net.
The first article in the series also provided an overview of Biden’s plans for working families and unions, which ultimately culminated in the two bills above:
The Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act
The American Jobs Plan
The American Families Plan
Learn more about why we should all support passing both bills, why corporate Democrats’ nonsensical obstruction threatens the entire party’s platform, and where negotiations currently stand in my Infrastructure Investments Collection.
Jobs Report Analysis
This Collection puts all my Jobs Report Analysis articles in one place, making it easy to see how the job market has progressed this year. I also included summaries of statistics, certain tangentially related topics and stories I discussed in each article, and links to other relevant articles I’ve written.

Other Articles in the Archives
While some articles will eventually be put into Collections, as you will see in my Coming Soon article, I wrote several standalone articles that are worth reading as well.
Feel free to browse the archives to see the full extent of topics I’ve covered so far, and let me know if there are any other topics you would like me to address in the future.
Sidenotes
About Me/This Newsletter
I am an accountant, the owner and sole proprietor of a small business, an educator, and a concerned citizen of the United States who wants to begin a dialogue with other concerned citizens. Read my Introductory Pilot Article below for more information about me and other topics.
Articles Planned for the Future
For more information about articles I would like to post sometime in the future, check back periodically to see what I have planned on the page formerly titled Coming Soon.
Because I no longer plan to post as regularly as I did throughout 2020-2022, I don’t know when my next article will be published. However, I have several topics I’d still like to discuss, and others which I’d like to revisit and update readers on developements since my last article on the subject.
Thank you for reading my newsletter and taking the effort to learn about making the world a better place. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on how we can make progress towards a more just economy.
